World Autism Acceptance Day

World Autism Acceptance Day

Oh!

How things can change in a year!

On this day last year I was advocating for my Autistic son without realising that I was advocating for myself!

I find it quite funny that I still hadn’t realised, I too, was bloody autistic and adhd! Duh 🙄😂

Here’s what I wrote:

I love several people who’re Autistic!

They don’t ‘have autism’, ‘suffer’ from it or carry it around like a bag.

What I’ve found they DO suffer from and have is, a society that gives them a hard time because they don’t fit in some stupid fucking box.

If you want to know how best to support Autistic individuals, funnily enough, you should talk to Autistic Individuals!

The preferred symbol by the majority of autistics for autism representation is the infinity symbol ♾ in Gold or Rainbow

The puzzle 🧩 piece suggests we are to be solved, as autism haters and eugenic researchers Autism $peaks (USA) say…

“Until all the pieces fit”
–
AUTISM $PEAKS

Which equals until a cure is found! Same goes for the ‘light it up blue’ theme.

Light it up blue = boys are autistic not girls…

So what have I learnt?

Well, it’s likely that all these years being treated for ocd, means that I was being treated for the ‘symptom’ rather than the true cause .

AUDHD & OCD

It’s been a very interesting, enlightening& emotional year.

I’m so thankful to the ‘autism inclusivity’ group on Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/groups/autisminclusivity/

The group has not only helped me advocate  for my children better but also for myself!

Thats why I’ve started showing up and telling my story*

*My journey of course involves my kids but what I share of them is what they’ve allowed me to share.
